For more information about the boundary adjustments, please read the background information provided below.
Meeting details:
Date: Monday, December 2, 2024
Time: 6:00 pm
Location: ACUSD District Office, Conference Room A (217 Rex Ave. Jackson, CA 95642)
Background information:
Since the unification of three districts in the early 1980s, our district’s elementary school boundaries have remained mostly unchanged. Over the decades, new neighborhood developments and roadway adjustments have altered student distribution, creating misalignments between students’ residences and their assigned schools. Consequently, a notable number of students now attend schools outside their designated boundaries. The district has identified areas where boundary adjustments may better reflect current population distribution and transportation routes.
To address this process comprehensively, a timeline has been established for data collection, board review, community engagement, and final implementation. Should the board approve any boundary changes, they would not take effect until the 2025-2026 school year. Additionally, all impacted students would be grandfathered in, allowing them to remain at their current school if they are affected by any changes.
