The ACUSD/ACOE Community Newsletter is a weekly communication from the Amador County Unified School District and Amador County Office of Education. The purpose of this newsletter is to keep our families, staff, and community members informed about our district!

District News & Announcements
Thanksgiving Break Next Week 🦃
Thanksgiving Break is next week! As a reminder, our schools and offices will be closed Wednesday, November 27, through Friday, November 29. We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!
Elementary School Boundary Adjustments - Public Meeting
We are holding a public meeting regarding the proposed elementary school boundary adjustments on December 2. Anyone interested in learning more about these adjustments is welcome to attend this meeting.

Date: Monday, December 2, 2024
Time: 6:00 pm
Location: ACUSD District Office, Conference Room A (217 Rex Ave. Jackson, CA 95642)

Reminder: Intra-District Transfer Window Now Open
The Intra-district transfer application period for the 2025-2026 school year is now open. Applications will be accepted through Friday, December 20, 2024. Please note there are strict timelines for accepting applications, and no application will be accepted after the deadline of December 20th.

Forms are available to download on our website, or they can be picked up at your school office.

Amador High Ceramic Ornament Sale
The Amador High School Ceramics students will be selling holiday ornaments at the Sutter Creek Open House. Purchase an ornament for $5 to support the Ceramics program!

News From the Community

Amador Sheriff's Annual Toy Drive 🎅
Applications for the annual Toy Drive are now available in our school offices! If you would like to apply for your family, please fill out an application at your school's office or call your school and request one. All applications must be returned to the office by December 12.

Toy pick-up will be on Saturday, December 21, between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm at St. Sava Mission in Jackson.

School Board Updates
The next School Board meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 18, at the Amador County Administration Center located at 810 Court St. Jackson, CA 95642. The SELPA board meeting begins at 5:00 p.m.

Art Students Celebrate Native American Heritage Month
In honor of Native American Heritage Month, Mrs. Flint's art students at Jackson Junior High listened to the story of Turtle Island and created drawings in the style of Indigenous artist Norval Morrisseau!

Learning About the Salmon Lifecycle 🐟
Jackson Elementary students visited Mokelumne River Fish Hatchery and learned about the lifecycle of our local salmon. They visited the river to see the wild salmon spawning, observed the egg harvesting process in the facility, and fed some baby trout being raised in the hatchery.
